CBS Sports has partnered with ProJo Poker Enterprises to bring the ProJo Poker tournament series to network television. The network plans to air eight ProJo Poker tournaments, including the finals from Las Vegas. In addition, viewers will be able to play ProJo Poker online totally for free at both ProJoPoker.com and at CBS SportsLine.com's new Poker Arena, which will launch in August of this year.
The ProJo poker circuit prides itself on matching "regular Joes" versus professional poker players. They accomplish this by not allowing professional players to participate in the tournament's early rounds. The top eight "regular Joes" make it to the semi-final round. They play against one another until only four remain. At the same time, eight top professionals are matched up against one another and play until only four remain. The top four "regular Joes" then face off against the professionals.
