The winner of a free pass from PokerStars.com has ended up winning $400,000 in the World Series of Poker. According to The Wayland Town Crier, Bernard Lee of Boston, Massachusetts placed 13th and won $400.000. Lee placed 13th in the main Texas Holdem no limit tournament.

According to published reports, Lee came just a few chips shy of reaching the final table of nine players. That would have guaranteed him $1 million in winnings.

Lee's father, brother, former college roommate, and two co-workers made the trek to Vegas to watch him play. The father of two says that his $400,000 winnings will be put towards a college fund for his young son and daughter.
