In a direct effort to promote the safety of its online poker gaming operation, Bodog.com is ready to unveil television spots that warn players of specific types of poker predators.

Bodog has been at work on a million-dollar advertising program that involves all forms of media, print, radio, and television. The new ads are in full MTV video style, featuring a strong musical track and quick cuts that move rapidly to unveil well dressed men and women in an upscale poker club.

The four ads, referred to as The Hustler, The Under Dog, The Ringer and The Wild Card, give the pretense of warning poker players of some of the most common tactics predators use on less sophisticated players. Each piece reportedly ends with Bodog.com Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre joining the table, his mere presence sending a message that the predator no longer stands a chance now the Ayre has joined the game.

Ayre insists the ads serve to educate Bodog.com?s customer base of recreational players. Others would call the spots an overt attempt to make recreational players believe that the only sure way to play poker safely is to use Bodog.com's online poker game where predators end up on the same level as everyone else.

The ads are set to run over the upcoming weeks on Spike, Comedy Central, and USA. The spots target the The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, South Park, and WWE (Raw). However, beginning December 2, the ads will start appearing in more than 150 movie theaters prior to feature films, a move that will reach an estimated 6.6 million movie goers during the winter film season.
